Dinosaur and Reptile Skin
LUKE PIASECK
- Hi there, I'm trying to render and later animate some realistic
looking dinosaurs. For the objects I think I'll go for Jurassic collection
(for LW ) or try to modell something similar on Real3D 3.3. My main problem
are the textures... what kind of and where could I get them from? I have
no idea how to "texture" a dino object so it looks almost as realistic
as the ones in Jurassic Park...please help me. Where can I get them from?
Also I have to my disposal Imagine 3.3 and Forge with Essence so I could
render some of the textures and use them as brush maps in LW or Real3D,
the problem again is which ones and how...
- In LW 4.0 try using the crumple texture as a bump map with a
texture size of 1.0, number of scales 4, small power 2, and an amplitude
of 25%. Also use bump array in either the color or diffuse channel with
a radius of .01,spacing .005, and bump strength -.5. On the Jurrasic T-Rex
it looks good to me, and because it's all algorithmic you want have any
problems fitting an image map onto a curved surface.
